Battlefield Bad Company 2

February 3, 2010

Well the first Bad Company was great besides the fact my live wasn’t working and when I decided to recover the gamertag and apparently Xbox decided I didn’t get those achievements and that’s why my copy of the first game is at the local GameStop.

But horrible gaming experiences aside I’ve tried Battlefield’s demo and will have some hand’s on footage coming up soon as I discuss what’s going on with the game. This little gem is supposedly a great game and it is don’t get me wrong. I tried and couldn’t find one bad thing about this, the only reason I bought the first Bad Company was because I loved the PC game, Battlefield 2.

But overall the game was great while the graphics were amazing. At this point, I feel like when this game comes out.. I will be stuck in my room and actually play a different game then Modern Warfare 2. So thank you EA for so far making a kick-ass game.

Apple Playing Monopoly?

February 1, 2010

Thanks to the people at Telegraph, we realize that Apple could be monopolizing the market.  So Apple has it set up so music, videos, audiobooks, games, apps, and so much more.  But with the iPad coming out, you can buy books now which sort of sends a direct challenge at Barnes & Noble Nook and Sony Reader and the Amazon Kindle.

But with the iPod, iPhone, iPad, Macbook, and so much more, could it be considered that Apple is monopolizing the market?  I feel like it is, yet Apple could drop AT&T as the exclusive carrier for the iPhone and maybe I wouldn’t care or maybe they give me a iPod Touch with a camera and I would notice the monopolization of the media industry.

Pepper + Fire = Isn’t Good?

January 29, 2010

Alright, we thank the police of Portland, Oregon for the stupidity of accidently spraying pepper spray on a man who set himself on fire in downtown Portland.  In a statement, the police said the officer mistook the pepper spray for a fire extinguisher.  My only question is, how big was the pepper spray can… enough to look like a fire extinguisher?

Portland police said the man, identified as 26-year-old Daniel Shaull, of Kansas, made attempts to avoid being sprayed by an actual fire extinguisher used by a Good Samaritan at the scene.  Shaull later died at Legacy Emanuel Hospital.  But the best part is that the police said the reason of the confusion was that the pepper spray canister and the fire extinguisher are both painted red.

Which makes you think, why do they hire idiots to wear a badge and mistake pepper spray for something that puts out fire.  This makes this man’s death the most random time to have pepper on your body while burning

iPad is iBad?

January 28, 2010

The media and industry analysts are starting to agree more and more that the iPad doesn’t seem practicle, more like a giant iPhone.  Is that worrying for Jobs and Apple as the release yesterday in San Francisco.

People were complaining how there was no camera and how Verizon isn’t going to be apart the Apple family yet.  The camera was seen good for maybe Skype and seemed good.  Another complaint and something myself noticed as well is that the iPad can get heavy after awhile.  1.5lbs doesn’t seem like much but trying to hold it was tricky.  If you have the iPhone thumbs where your typing with thumbs then this will take some getting used to since the keys are raised up.

Jobs made a comment saying how 75 million iPhone users are all ready to use the Tablet but who would be willing to dish out $499 just for a bigger iPhone really.  A lot of concerns will be addressed in the second generation.  Will see what happens

Apple announces iPad

January 27, 2010

Well today Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs walked out onto the stage in San Fransico to address the medias cry for the yes or no on wheather what ever the tablet would be called existence. “iPad is our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price,” said Jobs.

“iPad creates and defines an entirely new category of devices that will connect users with their apps and content in a much more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.” What Apple’s CEO said seemed pretty promising considering that Wired.com discovered that Jobs had the iPad in mind since the eighties. All the features that came packed with this was very suprising besides the fact of no camera. The iPad is 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds. Technology analysts were estimating that the iPad would’ve cost $800-$1000, but the press rejoiced when Jobs said that the 16gb iPad with wi-fi costed $500.

Now, Apple has included 3G into this and of course AT&T has a cut in the deal. They are offering something special to all iPad users, free wi-fi at all AT&T hotspots. Now the normal version with only wi-fi comes in 16GB($499), 32GB($599) and 64GB($699). Also all applications will be avaliable for the iPad, Apple explained just by doubling the pixel size that it would allow the applications to run smoothley. The Apple iPad will be available in late March starting at $499.

NFL Drama

January 25, 2010

Well sure enough, Brett Farve screwed over the Minnesota Vikings when he threw an interception deep into Saints territory in the last seconds of the game making the tiny hope Minnesota had of going to the Super Bowl crushed. Just to throw down some information, the Vikings haven’t been to the Super Bowl for 33 years. Now if it was maybe four years, I would say no pressure… you’ll get it next year. But for god sakes, 33 years is unacceptable for anyone, maybe not for Steve Carrel trying to get laid in 40 Year Old Virgin but then I would be making random comparisons which I’m not hear to do.

Anyway, the Saints are moving on to play the Indianapolis Colts in two weeks in Miami for Super Bowl XLIV(44). It’s sort of funny and this just occurred in my mind that Brett Farve screwed up so bad, not only because of 33 years his team has missed a chance to go to the Super Bowl but this is the first time the Saints are going there in the franchises history. But it will be interesting to see how the Saints will play this out. Personally I rooting for the Saints, because quite frankly I just don’t like the Colts and not to mention that the Jets should have won. I’m done talking and going to read some e-mails and look at the preliminary results for Hope for Haiti Now donations.

I Hate Apple

January 24, 2010

I’m usually a happy guy when it comes to my iPod but when I usually think, “hey maybe if they added all attachments to the iPod besides the function to be a phone, consumers might be happy” but then I get reminded that Steve Jobs loves money and so do the shareholders.  This reminder just tells me, that every new generation iPod that there is 1 new attachment from the iPhone and that there is a promise that the firmware and technology inside is “so much better” and “funner”.  The word “funner” made by Steve Jobs because he thinks he is so funny by using a word that in theory doesn’t exist.  Anyway, with each new generation that mean every year, I must think I need to replace this.  So below, one day I decided to rant.  Enjoy

You know what, when I buy an iPod Touch Third Gen. for Christmas and then figure predictions for a camera with Spring, and then here that Apple decides that quality isn’t good enough especially when there is a prototype on the market called the iPhone.  We all know that the dimensions and size of the two aren’t as similar but are enough where Apple shouldn’t make stupid moves by delaying these and costing me the consumer the decision to either return my iPod so I can wait for the one with the camera or keep this and hope people on eBay want it.  We all know this iPod Touch will turn into a iPhone without service and yet Apple will do it one gen at a time because Steve Jobs doesn’t think Mac laptops that are over $1000 aren’t bringing in enough money during a recession.  This has been the Apple mind set and for the consumers not in the Mac Cult, it can be frustrating.

I don’t want to be the guy to point the finger at the problem but Apple is screwing up with the way they do business.  I talked to my college professor about the stereotype and how Apple is the “hip and cool” product and PC is getting crap for viruses and not efficient enough phone software, but in the next few years, the tides will turn and Apple will not be getting happy results.
